Walt Disney Studios has released a new behind-the-scenes video “featurette” of Touchstone Pictures’ upcoming movie, The Last Song, starring Miley Cyrus, Liam Hemsworth, Bobby Coleman, Hallock Beals, Nick Lashaway, Carly Chaikin, Nick Searcy and Kate Vernon, with Kelly Preston and Greg Kinnear.
The Last Song, scheduled for wide release on Friday, April 2, 2010, holds promise for being an exceptional family film that deals with first love, the love and bonds of family and the ability to forgive and move on.
Tough topics in these tumultuous times, Last Song, brings young teen celebrity Cyrus into focus, not only for her musical contributions to the film, but her natural acting instincts, which seem to be a perfect fit for this beautifully crafted movie directed by, Julie Anne Robinson, from a screenplay written by, Nicholas Sparks and Jeff Van Wie, which is based on Sparks emotional and tear-inducing, best-selling novel.
The setting for Last Song is in a small Southern beach town where Greg Kinnear, who plays an estranged father, gets an opportunity to spend the summer with his young son and reluctant teenage daughter played by Miley Cyrus. The two stars are the frontrunners to recreate roles played by Sophie Marceau and Christa Theret in the Lisa Azuelos film, reports contactmusic.com.
Azuelos will write and direct the Hollywood re-do.
The film follows the exploits of a teenager and her divorced mother as they attempt to get on with their lives after break-ups.
